Kavanaghi
Holds a Bachelor of Arts Drama and a diploma of Education from the University of Newcastle. Daniel has had the opportunity to work at a professional level in most aspects of theatre, particularly writing and directing. Primarily an actor, Daniel started composing and song writing quite by chance. While performing in "Jenny's Adventures" the composer withdrew at the last moment meaning there was no-one to write the songs. So he jumped in and got it done. We formed our own production company in 1997 "That's All!" productions, producing work mainly in theatre for young people. Our next work will be "The Emporer's New Clothes" which will premiere January 2004. Daniel has worked with most Newcastle Theatre Companies. He is a founding member of "Tantrum Theatre Company" and one of the original, critically acclaimed, "Bartuccio's." His more recent roles include "Enjolras" in the Civic Theatre Newcastle's production of "Les Miserables", "Prince Leopold" in That's Alls "Cinderella" and his award winning role as "The Lion" in Metropolitian Players production of "The Wiz". 2002 saw Daniel receiving 4 CONDA award nominations and 3 awards, two being for musical direction and one for best actor in a musical.
